These are my first pieces for this module. I found scrap pieces of wood and then used acrylic paint to paint the background. I then used nails to map out my image and finally used wool to connect the nails resulting in a line drawing. Although I thought these pieces were beautiful I thought that they were too decorative and didn't say what I wanted my work to say. viewers past buy them without a second thought they didn't stop to look like I wanted. So, after some help from a lecturer I moved on.

I then decided to try to experiment with layering and using the same colour multiple times in the piece so while creating this i sprayed the background silver then drew a graffiti style design on the background and eventually used nails to create the line drawing. I decided not to add string as I didn't have any silver and I wanted to experiment with the same colour. I don't like the over all outcome of this piece but I like the different elements of it separately just not how it was executed. I love the layering of the same colour but I find the nails a bit messy I think the use of the string makes the piece a lot more crisp and clear. In person the piece looks interesting as the graffiti background isn't as clear and cant be fully seen unless you get closer to the piece. I think the use of the same colour defiantly helps to draw people in and I think I am on the right path.

For this piece I tried the exact same thing but used string to create the line drawing instead of just nails I like this outcome a lot more then the previous one, to improve this I could get a closer match in the colour of the string and background.

I love this piece. I decided to layer multiple colours on the background and layer multiple figures and then add the final layer of the nails and string. The outcome of this defiantly draws in the viewers as they struggle to see each layer.

I don't like this piece as I decided to experiment with materials which has not paid off. for this piece I experimented with wire on top of the layered images which can barley be seen. Meaning that the nails look out of place on the piece. I think that if I was to experiment with wire more I would have to use a thicker wire so it can be seen more clearly as I want each layer to be seen not to fade into the background.

I like this piece as it is almost like an optical illusion I like how multiple figures can be seen. My favourite thing about this piece is the bright background and the softer colours of the string i think it create a nice balance and makes a very nice aesthetically pleasing piece.

For this piece I decided to try something different and decided to draw the line drawing straight onto the wood using marker and then obscuring the drawing with pastel coloured wool over the top. I really like the outcome of this piece I think it looks very aesthetically pleasing and defiantly draws in the viewer. I like the contrast in the dark pen and the light coloured wood and string. The fact that the subjects face is being covered adds an air of mystery to the piece and makes the viewer wonder why.

For this piece I used neon lights which came in the form of a bendy wire. I love this outcome and think it could be quite successful. I like the colour of the lights as it makes the figure look quite alluring and feminine. i think that the contrast between the dark wood and the bright neon light is rather beautiful and hard to miss. This piece is unapologetically bold it screams look at me and grips the viewers attention.

For this piece I used spray paint to colour the background of the wood which i then added different coloured drawings to and finally finished it off by adding line drawings with nails and wool over the top. i really like this piece because of the affect the grain in the wood has had it almost looks as if the colour is running which makes the view look closer making them see the different layers. to make this piece better i could have added more colours and more faces to create more layer.

For this piece I created almost a mini installation under my desk where I drew multiple different line drawings on tracing paper and collaged them together then attached it to the back of the desk. I then proceeded to create a cats cradle sort of situation around the table legs to create a very confusing messy installation. I then took a lot of different photographs and edited them on photoshop. I really like the outcome of this experiment, I did this as I new I wanted to create an installation and I new I wanted to experiment with colour so I did this as sort of a small taster session to see if I enjoyed it before I dedicated a large amount of time to my next installation project. I found that I really liked the use of the bright colour and I loved the effect of the messy cats cradle and will be experimenting with both further. my favourite outcome is the first image in the slideshow due to the fact that it is so bright and colourful I love the contrast between the colour and the black string I think it looks very striking and very professional considering it was just a little experiment made under my desk.
