The task to draw a room where all four walls the ceiling and the floor were shown. This i my final outcome where i have drawn my living room where the fourth wall can be seen in the reflection of the mirror on the back wall.

The next task was to draw 4 A3 drawings with unconventional materials. To do this I first created a image of a shoe out of nails and string, secondly I stitched my next image onto a canvas. Then I used PVA glue and tea create my next image. For my final image i then used glue and sequins ro create the shape of a heeled boot.

Artist Research

PS1.jpg

I really like Paul Stowes work, due to the fact that he creates very dramatic and interesting realistic portraits. his work has defiantly helped me to improve my realism work. He if defiantly a useful artist and one of my go to artists when I need some inspiration he helped me to realise that realism is one of my favourite art forms.

Paul Jackson is an amazing artists. i really connect with this pieces where he looks at animals and skulls and makes it almost as if the animals skin is being ripped away. I think they are very beautiful in a weird and scary sort of way. Jackson showed me that realism doesn't just have to be a standard portrait and can be a lot more then that.

Gillian Lambert is one of my favourite artists. She looks at distortion, purposely distorting her face to create the most strange portraits as possible. Lambert taught me that art doesn't need to me pretty some times the most strange pieces of artwork are the most beautiful. Lambert introduced me to the subject of distortion in which I now love and frequently work in the style of.

Nikos Gyftakis is another distortion artist which I came across while looking at artists like Gillian Lambert, I had never previously worked with coloured pencil before but this artists made me love it, I really like his pieces I like how they almost resemble optical illusions due to all the swirling coloures that makes up the portrait.

Dirk Dzimirsky is everything I wants to be able to create, his work is what I strive for and what I am practicing up to. his work is inspirational, flawless. I am in love with the flawless finish of his work, they look more like photographs then drawings no pencil marks can be seen it just looks like a black and white photograph.

Drawing is an art form intended to record or document something. to me drawing can be absolutely anything you desire it to be, drawing is freedom. Freedom to take the tools around you and create something more, something others can look at and appreciate. many artists use a form of drawing when creating their work whether it is a sculptures fast sketches of what he wants his model to resemble or a painters quick outline before he adds paint. drawing is the foundation of art.
